Although this weekend went by insanely fast, I am not complaining about a three day work week! This past weekend I spent Saturday photographing an awesome family (you may have seen their session in my last post) and then helping a friend second shoot a wedding. I was exhausted on Sunday and pretty much wrote the day off by hanging out in my pjs and going through all the new photos. Between all of our own wedding/honeymoon craziness, Josh and I didn’t get very far with planning a fourth of July weekend. We ended up meeting up with two of his best friends in Maryland and watching the fireworks in Arlington last night. We had such a good time with his friends. I always love hanging out with them because they’re the type of people that never let the conversation run dry or stoop to anything less than a deep conversation. We talked about business, the size of their biceps (no joke, they measured them), books, religion, phsychology, and America (of course). And then we played monopoly. For friends who don’t know, Josh is completely OBSESSED with monopoly. It makes perfect sense that this is his game of choice since he is in sales, but playing with him is brutal. I usually just start the game with a glass of wine and just let things roll, but when we played this weekend I actually won! I bragged quite a bit, because this is a 1 in a million win for me.
It’s another engagement session pulled out of the archives! I met Courtney and Marcos down in Richmond back in April to photograph their engagement session at Maymont park. The same park where Courtney and I used to run cross country races together in high school! She was actually a junior in high school when my best friend Olivia and I joined the team in 8th grade. She was also among the group of girls who immediately took us under their wings. That group of cross country girls took such good care of Olivia and I as we tried to break out of our awkward middle school years and start training with the high schoolers. We both looked up to them so much.
Courtney is such a sweetheart and I was very excited to meet the man she is going to marry this coming October! Marcos and Courtney met while they were in college together at Longwood University.
