2 summers ago I spent my summer up in DC on my own for the first time as an intern at the architecture & design firm where I currently work. I lived in Georgetown with students from Georgetown University. In fact I lived right behind M street. It was an easy 1 mile walk to work and I absolutely loved it. I spent the summer jam packing as many DC activities in as I could. I visited all the museums on the mall, checked out most of the unique neighborhoods, explored plenty of quaint streets in Georgetown, & spent a lot of evenings at after work happy hours with all of the other interns. It was a wonderful summer and it drew me in to move back after I graduated college. There is so much happening in the city and the surrounding areas of Virginia and Maryland. And it is such a central location on the east coast. It really is easy to get anywhere.
Joyce & Jennifer are good friends with one of my roommates from that summer. We spent our time together roaming their beautiful campus, climbing an iconic statue, and walking the surrounding streets of Georgetown. I’ll take any chance I can get to eyeball all of the beautiful historic homes!
