Today’s blog post is coming to you live from my couch, in sweat pants with a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream. This has become my uniform of choice as soon as I walk in the door after work. I am editing away after another wedding weekend. This weekend things were a little different as I got to second shoot for the first time this season! I met Cait Kramer down in Southeast DC for Saturday’s wedding. I’ve been trying hard to meet other creatives in the DC area, but with a full time job, weekends full of shoots, and LOTS of editing time…it’s been quite hard to make new connections. This weekend afforded me the perfect opportunity to meet a new photographer!!
It was a beautiful fall day at a very special new venue. The district winery has just recently opened on the waterfront and Saturday’s wedding was it’s second wedding ever! The architecture firm that I work for actually designed the base building, so I was extra giddy to get inside and scope it all out. The space is fantastic. The ceremony took place on a deck that overlooks the waterfront and the ballpark. The reception room sits just beyond the ceremony space with views to the river. The chairs had beautiful brass detailing along the backs and the wood floors, metal detailing, and intricate ceiling made the designer in me extra excited.
Check out a few detail sneak peeks below and stay tuned for a blog post in the coming weeks! Happy Monday friends! All photographs shot while second shooting for Cait Kramer Photography
