This past Saturday we celebrated Justin and Whitney’s sun-filled, February wedding at Raspberry Plain Manor in Leesburg, Virginia. The day started with bright blue skies and warm temperatures that lasted throughout the wedding day. The bride and groom spent the mid morning getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen in different suites of the manor house. Once Whitney and her mother adjusted her veil, we made our way outside to meet Justin for their first look. Justin’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was priceless and so sweet. They shared some time together and read personal vows.
After their first look, we took portraits around the grounds and then their bridal party joined us. The girls wore various styles of a dusty blue dress from Azazie. Justin wore a classic, deep blue suit while his groomsmen wore charcoal suits from The Black Tux. After portraits we tucked the group away upstairs while guests began to arrive and spill into the ceremony space. The light in Raspberry Plain’s reception hall was breathtaking that day. For a February wedding, we had such amazing light all day!
Justin had a similar, tearful reaction as he watched Whitney enter the room and walk down the aisle. There were lots of tears in the room as they recited their vows and made their promises to one another under a gorgeous arch of greenery and white roses by Petalos DC. After their ceremony the amazing vendor team completely transformed the room for their reception while guests enjoyed cocktails in the various living rooms of the house. The transformation of the space was beautiful. The arch where they had just recited their vows became the backdrop for the head table. The tall floral arrangements that lined the ceremony aisle became centerpieces scattered around the room and candles were lit throughout the space to add ambiance.
After the bridal party entered the room, Justin and Whitney arrived and shared their first dance. They started off with a simple sway back and forth and then broke out into a waltz around the room. They surprised everyone in the room! After guests enjoyed dinner catered by Gala Cuisine, their epic DJ, Edwin Park, started the party. He had a perfectly balanced mix of current hits and wedding classics that flowed seamlessly due to his great transitions. I’ve seen a lot of wedding DJs and he kept the party going all night!! As the night came to a close Justin and Whitney made their way out under a canopy of sparklers held by all of their family and friends.
Thank you to the amazing vendor team!
